In May 2021, Ruqayyah Alzona Al-Baari and Coco Villa collaborated on Edenic Zone, an installation and movement workshop at Lady Luck Gardens in Big Sandy Mush, NC. Click the posts below to see the process behind the collection and documentation of the event.

Zona Baari was created by Ruqayyah Alzona Al-Baari in 2018. Having a lifelong curiosity for the presence of God through human history, Ruqayyah developed ZB from an urge to facilitate an Edenic existence accessible in our current density.

This obsession sparked from her journey with plant medicine, her devotions are directed towards interpreting the greater mission of humanity, piecing together clues left behind from cultures throughout time, and communicated through the natural world. She works to encourage a frequency which prioritizes transmuting both the personal and collective pain we face on Earth to a new resourceful energy which might offer a raise in vibration by exploring alternative methods of communicating truth and arriving at understanding.

Zona Baari has a distinctive aesthetic developed from a need to utilize the human body and mind to its full creative capacity, resulting in organic shapes, metaphysical symbolism, and hand formed objects. The “human touch” is critical to the ethos of Zona Baari, which adheres to experiment with human instinct and the capability to “form” beauty through tangible design. Zona Baari is a colorful meditation of intentional world building, providing items of divine essence, inspiring a lifestyle that may be encoded in our DNA.
